Directions to My Auburn Office

From Grass Valley
Take Hwy20 W/Hwy 49 S for approximately 30 minutes. As you arrive in Auburn you’ll cross under the freeway, look for Lincoln Way on your right. Turn right on Lincoln Way. At the next intersection, continue straight. You’ll see the Auburn Courthouse on your right. As soon as you’ve passed it, look for the red brick building on your left and make an immediate left into the parking lot below it.

From Sacramento
Take I-80 E to Lincoln Way. Turn right onto Lincoln Way. At the next intersection, continue straight. You’ll see the Auburn Courthouse on your right. As soon as you’ve passed it, look for the red brick building on your left and make an immediate left into the parking lot below it.

From Reno
Take I-80 W towards San Francisco. Look for exit 119B or Hwy 49 towards Placerville. You’ll loop under the freeway and will continue on Hwy 49 South. At the next intersection, continue straight. You’ll see the Auburn Courthouse on your right. As soon as you’ve passed it, look for the red brick building on your left and make an immediate into the parking lot below it.

My History in Auburn, CA

In 1991, I began working in Auburn, even before I started living here. I was a new lawyer, with just 4 years under my belt, making the daily drive from Sacramento to Auburn. I loved that drive. I loved the way this town is above the fog and remains nice and sunny most of the time.

I finally moved to Auburn in 1994. My kids went all the way through the Auburn school system until they graduated from high school. My mom and mother-in-law live here, and my friends do too. I still live here and I absolutely love it.

My Favorite Spots in Auburn

Auburn is an outdoor community. I love the farmer’s market: it’s right by my office and I go there all the time. I love that it’s open all year round! 

My office is also a short walk from Old Town Auburn. I enjoy all the amazing restaurants and shops there almost every week. When I feel like taking a drive I head down 49 to visit the eclectic shops in town.

I love how walkable the town is. I also love that you can bike the whole town. I just got myself an eBike so I could do just that! I got it from the Victory Velo Bike Shop and I highly recommend them. 

I enjoy the great outdoors and often get out to the American River Canyon to hike or to Lake Clementine for kayaking.  

My absolute favorite places to go are the Auburn Ale House, Old Town Pizza, the Sierra Moon Goldsmiths, and Carpe Vino. I also enjoy the Pour Choice Coffee. I also really enjoyed hitting Josefines. It’s a new French restaurant that recently got written up in The Sacramento Bee.

I give back to this community however I can.

As a criminal defender in addition to my personal injury work, I’m very passionate about criminal justice issues. It’s a problem that can only be tackled holistically by paying attention to the fundamental issues of our time, such as homelessness, substance abuse, and crime.

I also do work in Veterans Court. That is, I represent vets in ongoing cases. Some of this is paid work, but a lot of it is done pro bono. I also spent twenty years running a charity golf tournament for Legal Services of Northern California. I’ve participated in many other fundraisers, including some at Turkey Creek and Dark Horse. 

I’m a member of the Placer County Bar Association and am a past president. I ran a lot of Bar Association dinners.
